Website maintenance in Oakville, so nothing quietly breaks

Hosting, backups, updates and someone to call. Most sites do not fail dramatically. They decay, and nobody notices until an enquiry never arrives.

The problem

The failure that costs businesses money is almost never the site going down. Downtime is obvious and gets fixed within the hour. The expensive failures are silent.

A contact form that stopped delivering. A plugin update changes something, the form still shows its thank-you message, and the emails go nowhere. Businesses routinely discover this months later, and there is no way to recover the enquiries that were lost.

The same goes for an expired SSL certificate throwing browser warnings, a plugin vulnerability sitting unpatched, or a site that has slowed to four seconds because nobody compressed the images the office manager uploaded. Each one costs enquiries without ever announcing itself.

Maintenance is not a service you notice working. It is the absence of a bad month.

What the plan covers

The same work every month, whether or not anything goes wrong.

Managed hosting

Configured properly rather than left on defaults, with caching and compression set up for the site rather than in general.

Daily backups

Kept off the server, so a backup survives whatever happened to the site. Restorable to any day, not just the most recent one.

Security and updates

Core, theme and plugin updates applied and tested, rather than auto-updated and hoped for. Malware scanning throughout.

Form and uptime monitoring

Forms tested regularly so a silent failure gets caught in days, not months. Uptime checked continuously.

Content edits

New pages, text changes, photos, staff updates. You send it, it gets done, without you learning WordPress.

A direct line

You call or email me. There is no ticket queue, no first-line support, and no account manager relaying the problem to someone else.

Common questions

Do I have to take a maintenance plan?

No. It is optional on every project and a good number of clients run their own site perfectly well. If you would rather do that, I will show you how during handover.

What if I did not build my site with you?

That is fine. I take on maintenance for sites I did not build, after a look to check there is nothing structurally alarming underneath.

What counts as a content edit?

Text changes, new pages, photos, staff updates, price changes, new services. What it does not cover is redesigning sections or adding custom functionality, which gets quoted separately.

How fast do you respond?

Same day for anything broken. Within a day or two for routine edits. You are contacting the person who does the work, so nothing waits to be assigned.

What happens if my site gets hacked?

It gets restored from backup and the entry point gets closed. Backups are kept off the server precisely so this is recoverable rather than catastrophic.

Can I leave and take my site with me?

Yes. The domain, content and design are yours. If you move, I will help you migrate rather than make it difficult.

Find out what is holding your site back

Send me your URL and I will send back a plain-English audit of what is working, what is not, and what it would take to fix. No charge, no pitch deck.
